LOWCOUNTRY LAND TRUST

Monday May 20 from 2-4 pm

Join Lowcountry Land Trust's conservation team alongside The Town of Sullivan's Island's staff naturalist for a guided walk through the maritime forest on Sullivan's Island. We will discuss flora, fauna, accreted land, land-use issues, and conservation easements while enjoying the beauty of the natural environment. We will meet at the Sullivan's Island Lighthouse, located at Station 18. On-street parking is available. This field trip is limited to 24 people. There is no cost associated with this walk. 

Lowcountry Land Trust—a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization—permanently protects land throughout coastal South Carolina that is foundational to the area’s ecosystem and residents’ quality of life. Having protected over 162,000 acres of land since its founding in 1986, Lowcountry Land Trust is one of the largest local land trusts in the United States.

KIAWAH CONSERVANCY BIRD IDENTIFICATION WALK

Monday, May 20th from 1 - 2 pm

Join Aaron Given, Kiawah Island wildlife biologist, on a beach walk to identify shorebirds. You are encouraged to bring your camera, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle. Details on entering Kiawah Island and parking are to come. There is no cost associated with this tour. Limited to 15 people. 

In 1997, the Kiawah Conservancy was founded to preserve the unique balance of nature and development on Kiawah Island and protect the Island’s natural beauty for the enjoyment of future generations. Since then, the Conservancy has focused on preserving properties, community education, protecting natural habitat, and sharing with the world what a remarkable place Kiawah Island is.

 
 

There is no charge to participate in the Lowcountry Landtrust or Kiawah Conservancy tour. Registration is required as space is limited. Please complete this option when registering for the conference.
